1) Steel dry or wet riser pipe.

NEWTHERM® P  board protection, thickness as per required fire resistance.

Mineral wool insulation, thickness and density as per required fire resistance.

Hanger rods (left unprotected if stress does not exceed 10N/mm² for 120 minutes fire rating and 6N/mm² for 240 minutes fire rating).

5) Steel angle at corners.
6) Steel angle forming a good fit around pipe.
7) Transverse joint backed with steel angle.
8)

Gaps at transverse joint and at hanger rod penetration to be filled with Intumex® AN Sealant.

Newtherm® P by Intumex is a rigid board but edges and corners should be protected where impact damage may occur. The large range of thickness available allows selection of the most economical board to meet given periods of fire resistance. All board sizes are based on metric equivalents of imperial dimensions rounded to the nearest 5mm. Non-standard sizes available to order. Standard sizes and board tolerances are shown above.
